Tried Audacity and Windows sound recorder on both mic and Realtek.  Both are enabled on Sound Panel.  Audacity is set up as my Acer laptop which works well.

Go into Sound Settings, then Input and make sure the correct device is chosen, then into Device Properties and make sure volume is set right.
Click on "Like" if you find my answer useful or click on "Yes" if it answers your question.

Thanks, Stereo Mix = (Realtek(R) Audio) as input, Device Properties = Stereo Mix,  Volume on 100% but clicking on Test button does nothing.  Additional properties = Device Enabled.  Forgot to say earlier I can play music (using Groove) without difficulty.  Be grateful for other ideas.

    Hello:

Did you get a solution for this? My computer microphone only works some of the time. It used to work all of the time. A Windows problem?
