Hello,

I have a AN515-54-55YM Nitro 5 laptop.
I tried to upgrade with a new SSD M.2.

So I bought that ssd : https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07KZ4TFRS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

However I am now trying to install it but it doesn't fit in the usual location for M.2 SSD. See picture, there is less than 1mm to be able to screw completly the board.

What do you think? Did I just buy the wrong SSD? I don't understan because it's a M.2 2280 board and it should fit in

Thank you in advance :)

Is the SSD fully pushed into the slot?

    Yes, I think so
I tried to push at it's maximum, but I don't want to force in fear of breaking something

Maybe I should try harder ?

You have a SSD in the other slot. Try swapping the slot and see how it goes to give you a fair idea.

This XPG drive comes with a heatsink and problematic, if you want try removing the heatsink and insert it.

Makes sense. I didn't think of that.

Thanks for your answers guys !

So what I can do is to force the screw. It will be a little bit bent in the slot but it works.

    Also one last question:
I kept the XPG heatsink  and let down the original acer metalic heatsink.
However I see that the original acer one touches the two metalic sides and link them. The xpg heatsink doesn't alow that. Do you think it will be problematic (maybe because of neutral link or sometihing like that)?
