Hello all, as the title suggests. I am trying to install Windows 10 on a SSD which I switched for the original HDD. However, I keep getting the 'no bootable device' error.

Model:  Acer Nitro N17C1

I tried using an external cd reader with windows 10- Result: Nothing
tried putting a flash drive with the windows 10 iso + Rufus. Nothing again

The SDD is working fine when I switch it to another PC.  Also when I put the original hard drive it works perfectly as well.

I have some screenshots of what it says in bios (model number, etc).  Boot priority order is also blank.
I cannot switch to legacy (thought that was it)

I have spent all day reading forums and watching videos but none has helped.

Thank you in advance

Hello and thank you for the response.
Regarding your question as to what I am doing, like I mentioned.
"I am trying to install Windows 10 on a SSD which I switched for the original HDD"

ISSUE SOLVED:  So when you are using Rufuus to put windows 10 iso in the flash drive, it gives the option the UEFI or both.  Apparently for the Acer Nitro both doesnt work. Only UEFI.

Your pictured bios HDD-0 is a type WDS250G2BOA-00SM50 which is a 2.5” 250GB SSD? Now, I don’t know what you are trying to do? As what you are saying doesn’t make sense?

Anyway, forget what you have done, also, I don’t know what your new SSD is? Is it an M.2 or a 2.5” type SSD? But if it’s a 2.5” SATA-3 6GB/sec SSD then use a SATA/USB 3.0 cable externally and clone your existing operating system onto the new SSD drive with a software like “Macrium Reflect v7” or similar, then take your old operating system HDD out and replace it with the new SSD one, don't have both running with the same OS. That is all that you have to do, its not rocket science. Also and if you have a Samsung 2.5” or M.2 SSD? Use their ”Data Migration” software which makes it allot easier. I don’t know what you are doing but this is a very simple process. Also, once you have installed the SSD and it works implement the "TRIM" command within Win-10 to make the SSD function even better and quicker, this is all a very simple process.

That is correct, for most modern computers you have to setup the flash drive with UEFI/GPT. You could have skipped that by cloning the old drive to the new one, so you didn't need to do an install from scratch.
