Locked in failed Windows update loop - soft brick? Nitro AN515-51 N17C1

It seems like I'm locked out of doing anything to my laptop since a failed Windows 10 update. I can't interface with the stock SSD at all anymore. The desktop environment fails to do anything. It's even stopping me from using other hard drives to try and recover from whatever went wrong. I've tried a variety of things but can't seem to do anything to make the laptop usable anymore.

What Happened
Windows 10 updated and everything was going fine. It was plugged in, battery was full but during a restart in the update process - it said something went wrong and Windows had to undo the changes. I've seen this before so I wasn't concerned.

It took roughly 20 minutes to undo the changes and went to the login screen. From there, it took roughly 8 minutes to log into the desktop environment (this is the loop - it happens every time the system is restarted).

On the desktop, the taskbar and background image loads and that's it (no icons, no startup programs, etc). From here, hovering over the taskbar shows a loading circle (but not on the desktop). I left this for about a day at one point but nothing changed. If I try to do anything (like access start menu, display settings, or task manager) it tells me the process is not responding and asks if I'd like to close it. Choosing either option doesn't seem to make a difference. If I try to create something like a text document or folder, I get a "Catastrophic Error".

No amount of waiting or restarting has made any kind of difference.

What I've Tried
As mentioned, I've tried restarting countless times. I've tried waiting on the desktop as well as on the login screen for long periods. I tried booting into Safe Mode, repairing Startup, using a System Restore Point, and uninstalling the update from the repair menu. They all said they couldn't find those options in the Windows environment anymore (I assume whatever went wrong is stopping the system from accessing them anymore?)

So I got my Windows 10 boot media and tried to use the options from that instead. Uninstall Update said it couldn't uninstall the update because an update completion was still pending. System Restore showed my restore point (which was a day or so before the update) but it gave an "unspecified error" when trying. The other options couldn't do anything either.

At this point, I was just going to reinstall Windows. There's nothing important that I don't already have backed up. The install Windows while leaving personal files option didn't let me and gave an error. I couldn't through advanced, either. I tried deleting (error 0x80070017) or formatting (error 0x80042428) the drive but couldn't do that, either.

I used the console from here and tried to use diskpart. The drive shows as Healthy in the list but any actions I tried against it were met with "cyclic redundancy check".

At this point I grabbed an old drive I had and attached it to the spare bay hoping to install Windows and try to fix the issue once in. As soon as I try to install Windows, it goes to "Copying" but then it says could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of the installation.

Just in case (although I highly doubted it was the issue), I tried cleaning the new drive through diskpart for installation instead of the launcher but it resulted in the same problem.

--------

At this point, whatever is going on is outside anything I've ever experienced before.

If anyone has any experience or knowledge that could help; Please could you help me?
