Acer EI342CKRP forces 21:9 instead of 16:9 when trying to use Nintendo Switch

Hello I have been trying to figure out how to use my Acer EI342CKRP monitor and using the HDMI port with the Nintendo Switch. It ends up showing just fine but it stretches the screen to fill the 21:9 screen when I would rather it be 16:9 and have black bars fill the space. I have tried looking through the settings but I can’t find anything that seems to fix it, which could just be the case of me not knowing the right term or something. If anyone could help me find a way to be able to get the Nintendo Switch to force 16:9 with the bars would be great.

Here’s the manual for the monitor

Is it the wide mode setting in the OSD? Under system
    8. Wide Mode: You can select which screen aspect you are using. The options are Aspect, 1:1, 21:9 and Full.

    try 1:1

Under OSD I only see language, osd timeout, transparency and osd lock

One down in the system option :)

1:1 seems to work but it feels like there is a lot of wasted space. I don’t know if there is anything to do to get it to use more of the space

One of the others may scale rather than stretch to give you a zoomed effect (maybe aspect?), but at least its better than a stretched mess!
