Faulty BIOS s/w on Acer technical support site? aspire v5 572P

Hi, I had problems with my acer battery not charging and tried all the troubleshooting steps but to no avail. There was a lot of buzz on the Internet about doing a BIOS upgrade so I tried it this morning. I went to this Acer technical support site and entered my S/N and it has a recent BIOS than the one I had. After I clicked on the extracted setup file everything seemed to be going fine but when the laptop started I get message 'No Bootable Device,Hit any key.' This upgrade essentially wiped out my BIOS!! What's more, I created a Windows 10 repair disk and that won't even boot!!! Now I have to take it to a repair person. If you are reading this, can you please inform Acer technicians that the BIOS s/w they have on the site for aspire v5 572P is faulty. thank you, Darryl

If you go into the bios, check what the boot mode of the disks is in, it could have got swaped to AHCI / Legacy from intel optane AHCI. A few others have had this on the forums

There is no BIOS to go into. Like I wrote, this BIOS setup program wiped out my BIOS.

no bootable devices suggests that its got past the UEFI and started to look for the disks to boot, it could be that it just doesnt show you a "thing" to get into the UEFI, try mashing f2 f11 f12 and del on start up it may just drop you into it, no bios would present itself with either black screen and fan spin and max, or just a blinking _
