(HELP!) Dual Monitor Setup - Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54

Hi! I just bought 2 monitors from Amazon (HP VH240a) and a USB C to 2 HDMI adapter. I connected my first monitor to the graphics card directly (not using USB c) and it works perfectly fine. I tried to use the USB c to 2 HDMI ports, but it keeps on saying that another monitor is not found. I tried connecting both monitors in the USB c adapter, and neither was found. Please help!

Model: AN515-54
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1650 (vram 4)
CPU: Intel i5-9300h

Adapter: Selore & S-Global 2 IN 1 USB-C ADAPTER (1)
Monitor: HP VH240a (2)

You can use a DisplayLink adapter (https://www.displaylink.com/products/usb-adapters) to run a second disaply. These use the USB port to convert the image to data and display it. They are not as good though as are limited on res on many which dont cost a fortune and are limited to i think 30fps. As long as you have a spare USB3 or USBC 3 you can use them

They run heavy on the CPU and cant use the GPU to accelerate them so are useless for gaming, watching stuff on them is OK though ( i use a external 15 inch one)

I'm trying to look for one that has 60hz and 1080p quality. Yet I do want to use the second display for coding/editing. I won't be running anything heavy like a game, but can a USB-C transfer over video. I just checked some forums and the user above was correct, the Acer lineup doesn't include USB-C video transfer. Or do you mean it transfers over video as in like pictures which merge together to get a somewhat like "video" output (kind of like a loophole)? Also, I'm using 2 monitors which are 60hz 1080p 24inch. (gtx 1650 / i5-9300h)

It uses a special driver to send the video signal, not using the GPU. For example they even have an app for android which works, but is bad haha! Displaylink may be able to do 60hz now, but my screen is from ~5 years ago. So its not a built into the laptop thing. The adapters can be quite pricy though, but will work in any usb3 port

To the point this driver does nofhing more than to capture the signal from the eDP and redirect it via usb. You still have to have a gear which understands that signal (a GPU build in the adapter) to get a picture and it is a low quality to expect. That was stated in one of my posts...

How do you mean low quality? Ive never seen any badness with mine even when another screen is connected. The screens can run quite well

Dell do some pretty nifty (but expensive) ones which can run 3X4k at 30fps or 1 5k display

I have an Acer Nitro 5 laptop 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11300H @ 3.10GHz 3.11 GHz that DOES HAVE FULL VIDEO SUPPORT FOR THE USB-C PORT !!!! and it works perfectly the only thing it does NOT do is have the ability to span monitors on games such as Microsoft flight simulator due to it having one dedicated port on the GPU and the other to the onboard graphics card.
Interesting given this is an Acer community group I am surprised your comments have been allowed given your totally WRONG !!

Some models for some countries/regions after AN515-54 and AN515-43 indeed does support native video out via USB-C. Up to the models above inclusive the entire Nitro line does NOT support native video out via USB-C! Next time before you start with the hate, do some research!

Hey guys! after banging my head on the desk for a week I finally found out what I wasn't doing correctly. I just didn't download the update for the USB docking station. Below is what I did to get it to finally work for me: Hopefully this helps for you!

Step 1: Purchase USB 3.0 docking station. ( I purchased the following https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X5VH1LJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ) Thank you for recommending this!!

Step 2: Plug one monitor into the only HDMI port in the laptop.

Step 3: Plug in USB docking on the left side of the laptop (with the blue, USB 3.0 port) with the second monitor.

Step 4: IMPORTANT (Please install the driver before use, This is NOT plug and play) <<< this is where I banged my head for a week.

Step 5: For this certain model ONLY the latest driver update can be found here: (https://support.frescologic.com/portal/kb/fresco-logic/drivers).I haven't tried any other docking stations but this one worked for me.

There you go it worked for me! Just make sure you go to "display settings," after and make sure its set up the way you want it to be. I was able to connect two tvs (a vizio 32' and a samsung 36')

Dear Sway,
We want to express our apologies for the inconvenience caused by the Selore adapter.
We have checked the laptop's model number on the Acer official website, it isn't compatible with our hub. It only supports data transfer, not supports video output. I have attached the link and picture, you can refer to it.
