I have Ubuntu 20.04 installed on my Aspire 5 515-54G-73N7. A new problem is that the fan is running (almost) constantly now (not only when Ubuntu is up but also in EFI), although there is almost no load.

The following "red lines" are logged in kernel.log:

Is there a problem with the heat sensor? Are there tools to further investigate the issue (sensor / fan /temperature)? What is a "normal" CPU/measured temperature?

What do you mean by this? EFI partition contains the UEFI bootstrapper trusted files for Ubuntu and other OSs if multiboot? Low load CPU and GPU temps should range between about 65-75*C with dual fans running between 3500-4500rpm. Should be kind of noisy with noticeable beat frequencies since the CPU fan generally runs at lower speeds than the GPU fan at the similar temps. If you're also running Windows, there is some control available over fan speeds in the advanced settings of Control Panel's power  plan that you're running. Depending on your Ubuntu GUI distro, there may be similar  fan speed controls as in Mint Cinnamon.  Jack E/NJ
