Power cord/port issue Aspire 515-44

I got this Aspire 515-44 not that long ago (maybe August? sometimes after lockdown restrictions really eased up) and from the moment i got it out of the box the power cord fell easily out of the charging port. Now it's to the point where a slight movement will make it beep and stop charging then beep again and start charging again when I move it a second later. All I have to do is move the laptop and the power cord falls out. It's like something is missing that would lock it in place. It looks like it's fitting in there fine. I have searched and not found anyone else mentioning this problem. Any ideas or solutions? The pin inside the power port seems to be fine but it's thin so I don't know how much it will last through a power cord that doesn't stay in place.

Thanks!

Charger plug barrels sometimes vary slightly in diameter. I suggest wrapping a thin piece of scotch tape around the barrel next to the plug's plastic so it fits tighter in the laptop jack. Jack E/NJ
