Does the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 output 2K video from its HDMI port? I want to connect a 2K monitor to mine. Thanks.

According to the Spin 713 manual:

the Spin 713 has HDMI 1.4b.

According to HDMI.ORG, HDMI 1.4b is:
    "HDMI 1.4b Specification

The major features introduced in the HDMI® 1.4b specification include:

    • 4K support enables video resolutions beyond 1080p, supporting high-resolution displays that deliver movie theater-like experiences to the home with incredible depth, detail and color. This includes support for 4096×2160 at 24 Hz, 3840×2160 at 24, 25, and 30 Hz, and 1920×1080 at 120 Hz. All resolutions and refresh rates can be support with the High Speed HDMI Cable."

I don't really know anything but that's what I found.

Which Spin 13 model do you have? It should be something like CP713-xxx-xxxx.

Thanks for the responses, folks. The monitor I have in view has a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 with a 75 Hz refresh rate. Since I don't see those figures in the list of supported resolutions and refresh rates, would it be a waste of money to pair that monitor with this Chromebook?

As I asked before, we need to know which Spin 713 model you have before we can answer most questions.

The model number on the side of the box of my Chromebooks reads: CP713-2W-5874.

OK, your model does have the HDMI 1.4b output, so should handle 2K just fine. It might not go all the way to 75Hz, but 60Hz should be doable. 4K will be at 30Hz. Your screen is already at 2256x1504, so using 2560x1440 shouldn't be a stretch on that HDMI port.
