Hello,
I'm currently shopping for a new Aspire 5 laptop.
1) Which models have two memory card expansion slots (instead of 1 soldered to the motherboard and 1 slot)?
2) How do I know how expandable it is (ie expandable to 16 GB, expandable to 8 GB, not expandable, etc)?

The Acer site does not seem to give this level of detail.  Any links/info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, there are hundreds of A5 models. Lower end models (<$500) generally have no expansion sockets with 4GB or 8GB soldered RAM mainboards. Midrange <$1000 one soldered, one replaceable. And higher end >$1000 like the a515-54G have two replaceable. Probably the best place to get an idea of the number sockets in the A5 line is crucial dot com. Jack E/NJ

Good luck. The trend even in newer midrange laptops is toward soldered RAM-only & integrated storage mainboards. Less mainboard real estate, cheaper manufacturing, cooler running, fewer upgrades possible. Sorta like tablets, mobile phones, etc. Just buy a new model to upgrade.   :)   Jack E/NJ
