Can I upgrade my 512GB SATA SSD on my Aspire 515-43-R19L to a 1TB SATA or 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2?

My new Aspire 515-43-R19L laptop came with the ADATA SU750 512GB 2.5 INCH SSD.  Can I replace it with a 1TB SATA SSD and if so, which is best?  Or can I get a PCIe NVMe M.2 1TB SSD instead?  If so, which?  I see there is a slot for one.  I tried calling Acer before purchasing this laptop but was told the max SSD size is 512GB and if I wanted more storage I would need to add a HDD.  If that is true, does anyone know why?  Thank you.

Yes, you should be able to replace the 2.5" SSD with just about any 2.5" SATA3 SSD up to 2TB with no problems. WD, Samsung & Adata are all fine 2.5" SSDs. You also have the option of adding either a SATA3 or NVME m.2 card also up to about 2TB. The NVME m.2 card should be about twice the speed of the SATA3 m.2 card but may be more finicky to install --- SATA3 m.2 seem to be more reliable. Jack E/NJ
