So my story of this computer's usage of Windows went like this:
- I got the laptop with the default Windows 7, it ran smoothly and ran my games well.
- Windows 8 came out so I put it on a partition and dual-booted the two, but one day Windows 8 over-wrote Windows 7 or something, thus, I couldn't use Windows 7 anymore and I was stuck with Windows 8, which I didn't mind for awhile.
- It ran okay, but the tablet features they had as well as other things I missed from Windows 7 so I decided to get Windows 7 back on here.
- It turned out the only way I could do that was do a clean-boot but I didn't want to because I've already filled my hard drive with all of my games and music and I don't exactly want to go through all of the work of getting it all back.
- I decided to use Ubuntu to get the default Windows 7 working (from the Acer Recovery partition), which it did, because it replaced the boot sequence and I could tamper with the files.
- After a while I decided that I needed to get rid of Ubuntu, and, well, it didn't really work out as intended and after a bunch of partitions deleting and re-establishing, I finally saved my files and got all of the OS's off.
- I then realized that it managed to delete my recovery partition, or something, because I couldn't access it. (even with the "alt+f11" technique or whatever keys it was. (It would say that it was launching the recovery partition and
- I finally got Windows 7 back; using a version of Windows 7 online with the product key on the laptop.
- It crashed a lot at start but now its working decently, although still crashing.
Now, for example, Skyrim runs at around 20fps on lowest quality, yet beforehand it used to run around 50-60fps on high quality.
So my educated guess would be that if I got the default version of Windows 7, along with all of the default Acer softwares that came with it, my laptop would be running faster. But as stated before, my Acer Recovery partition isn't showing up, so I was wondering if I could get some sort of lead on where I can get the files from the partition back.
