Nitro 5 AN515-54 Not Detecting New SSD in PCIe slot

Hello, I recently purchased this SSD:

WD_Black 1TB SN750 NVMe Internal Gaming SSD - Gen3 PCIe, M.2 2280, 3D NAND - WDS100T3X0C

which I thought was compatible with the Nitro5 model I have (AN515-54), but when I install it in the free PCIe slot, I don't see it show up in the Device Manager.

Did I get the wrong kind of SSD? I have tried to re-seat it a few times but no luck so far.

Thanks!

@JonJonJon Also keep in mind, when adding a new hard disk to the laptop for the very first time, you would need to import it under disk management. Only then it would be visible under your hard disks.

I didn't think to check BIOS. I'll give it a shot. If I don't see it there, should I assume its not compatible?

Pretty much yes. Any hard disk that is compatible should be visible in the BIOS.

Thanks @sri369 , I re-seated the SSD one more time, saw it in BIOS, the finally saw it in device manager. I appreciate the extra info to import the new disk drive under disk management. I'm all good to go now!
