Hello,

At the time of writing I currently own a Acer Predator G3-710, with a GTX 1060 6GB. I’m looking to upgrade this or the i5 processor that came stock with the PC and was wondering if firstly it’s possible with the current motherboard and power supply, and what the limits would be in terms of the card.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

There are a lot of people who have upgraded the G3-710 with success. Your first step is to boot from a SSD instead of HDD if your system doesn't have a SSD already. That's the biggest band for the buck. Next we look at system memory, if you're under 16GB then you likely will want an upgrade to at least 16GB. Next is the GPU, that's a more expensive upgrade than the others, especially since it often also requires a new PSU to handle the newer cards. Your budget is really the only gating factor there. Finally a CPU, which i5 do you have now? If 6th gen you can bump up in the 6th gen, if 7th gen you can bump to another 7th gen. With both of those the big difference between i5 and i7 is simultaneous operations, the i5 has one per core the i7 has two.
