I haven't seen this issue before, I'm assuming my monitor is broken?  There is nothing cracked externally but it looks like something is wrong on the inside.  How costly is this typically to repair?

Yup, the display is cracked in there. Acer doesn't show the screen as a FRU (Field Replaceable Unit) but you can search on the description to find them: LED LCD Panel QISDA 27'' QHD None Glare M270DAN02.6Q0 Z 350nit 12ms 1000:1

So I can order a replacement part, but with labor ands costs to install it, would I be better off ordering a replacement?

My guess is it will be a wash or leaning toward a replacement monitor being the better choice. :(
