Ever since 12/17/20, when i ran the latest update (Version 87.0.4280.88), my Acer Chromebook R 13 crashes after 30 seconds to a minute, continuously.  I have:
Rebooted
Hard reset
Powerwashed
Turned on and off wifi
Etc.

It has rebooted from the sign-in screen even with me doing absolutely nothing.

I've had it 4 years now and have no problem buying a new laptop, but if anyone has any answers, all ears.

Which model R13 do you have? It should be something like CB5-312-UD18...

Thanks, looking at the spec I don't see anything right off that could cause that issue. Are you sure the issue corresponded to the update? Is the crash exhibiting as just a reboot or does it flash any error up? Does it lock up for a while before the reboot or go straight into it?

Yes, it started after i restarted to load the updates.
I log in, and after doing anything, often chrome, any random app, in the about section in my settings, everything freezes for about 5 seconds then reboots and back to login. No error messages

Sounds like the OS load got corrupted then. You can do an OS reload by downloading it from Google to a thumb drive (I'd use a different system to do that), booting into recovery and using the downloaded image to rewrite what's there now.

Hello, Do the Chrome Recovery Utility. It fixed mine.
I own qty 2 of these laptops and had the same issue. A new OS update happened around mid Dec 2020. Both computers starting freezing up constantly. My daughters use them daily all day at high school and were in a panic. Powerwashing did not help. After digging into it deeper, finding out about the OS update, doing lots of research.... I decided to wipe Operating System and do a fresh install of the OS using the USB flash drive. Its called Chromebook Recovery Utility. It DID FIX the issue with both of my Acer CD5-312T laptops. Unfortunately for me I bought two new laptops for my daughter for high school before I figured this out of the course of the week.
