First it's an Acer Aspire 5740G-6395.  While trying to flash the bios in Windows, Windows desides to find a virus.  Ok, the file really wasn't a virus, but thanks Windows.  Upon rebooting, it appears dead. It just has a power in light, on light, battery light.  The CD does do a power on seek.  No key presses do anything. No bios of splash screens.
I tried an usb Crisis Disk many different ways. Key presses do nothing.  I have a CH341A programmer with clip on coming today. I will likely do the 3.3 volt mod first.  I have the W04AC322.bin and main
bios bios files. I will read and compare those files first.  If I have to, I can desolder U56 and U16. All of this is inside my skill set.

The last flash files from Acer that I tried, includes KMC, and I think the interruption disturbed the KMC update and that is why Crisis Disk does not work.

Any thoughts, advice?

That's ok. I'm just trying to get things working and bone stock on a laptop that could still have years left.  Where did I go wrong with the rules? Touching the actual chips with a soldering iron or programmer? Again, I just sticking to stock.

As is instructed with the last Acer bios v1.28 update for the Aspire 5740G from Acer Support you can either update bios by:

Run "\DOS\DOSFLASH.BAT" to flash BIOS in pure DOS or "\Winflash\JV50128.exe" in Windows x86/x64 OS environment (which you have done)  that could reflash your bios as is instructed by Acer Support. That is as far as we are allowed to go into bios on this forum as bios related mods and/or fixes are forbidden on this forum, due to apparent reasons like you have experienced. Good luck.

    Hi Bali,

BIOS password removal can be done only by the authorized Acer repair location. We are unable to provide instructions on how to remove the password. Please contact Acer support in your region for better assistance:

    https://www.acer.com/worldwide/

Acer has a BIOS password support policy described in link below.

    Thanks,

    Acer-Manny
