I'm looking to bump up my RAM to 32gb recently but I don't know what brand or specifics of the RAM sticks to look at. Also, if you can recommend a brand please do!

  • Hi,
If you are replacing the current modules, use 2x16GB DDR4 2666MHz Kingston HyperX modules, if you are thinking of adding another module to upgrade to 32GB, then don't buy Kingston HyperX because you can not mix memory modules with different profiles, so if you are going to add memory to the existing module buy ordinary RAM like Crucial or Kingston Value RAM.
Please download and install CPU-z, run it and post the pictures of Memory tab and SPD tab for both slots.

I'm looking to replace the one currently installed since I'm in the basic 8gb only. Another question I have is that are the Kingston HyperX ones the only ones or are there other options for this. Sorry, I'm bad at these things. Thank you
