Apologies if this question has been asked and answered before, but I'm not able to find  it.  I have a new Acer Aspire 5 and a full battery only gives me 4.5 hrs of life with just normal web browsing and emails.   No gaming or streaming.    Ive done all the power saving actions, but still only 4.5 hrs.  This is not normal according to someone I know who has a 3 yr old Aspire, so I'm wondering if its a faulty battery?  before I pay someone to check the battery, I thought to ask if others having the same problem?

thanks

I guess its time to contact Acer support directly.  I'll let you know if they help.

You can check the battery status yourself.

Type "cmd" in the search bar, right click on the command prompt, run as administrator. Type 'powercfg /batteryreport'. (w/o quotes) and Enter. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Compare design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.

thanks,  when I right clicked on run as administrator, a black screen with white letters came up.  C:/windows/system32>
Is that correct?  If so, I will enter powercfg/battery report and proceed.
