Hi,

  About ago October 30th, I bought a:

Acer Nitro 5 15.6 FHD Gaming Laptop, 9th Gen Intel Quad Core i5-9300H,NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD+2TB HDD, WiFi 6, MaxxAudio, Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10 Home Edition.

Two weeks ago I installed all the Updates for the laptop and it was running with no issues.  This past weekend - 12/12 - when I turned the laptop on, I've heard like a hum noise - Same sound that you would hear when there is a scratched CD in a CD-ROM.  The sound goes away after 10 minutes after the unit is turned on; the sound seems to come from the bottom right corner of the keyboard.
I'm not sure how to solve the problem.
   Thank you
Paul

the headers of your HDD scratching on the disk? take it out and listen to it in an enclosure. see if its the HDD. IF it is itl need replacement!

So took the hdd and placed it in a external hdd dock station and it was the hdd making the noise. A follow up question: can I use any laptop internal hdd to replace the bad one?
