Same issue here.  This has been annoying my child for at least a year (and therefore annoying me). Its always been a bit random, rebooting the device (hopefully) has been fixing it for a few hours. But its now to the point where it rarely works.
    - I have reset the device many times
    - I have physically removed the wifi adapter and put it all back together again (assuming it was a connection issue)
    Still no luck.

I'm now googling for a new wifi adapter, however hesitant to buy a new one as the first comment says this does not resolve the issue?
I've also looked into an external USB wifi adapter - However this does not work on these models?

Has anyone got any solution/workaround/answers to this?  I also have the N15Q8 model listed above of the C738T.

Firstly, is your OEM an Intel 7265NGW? As they are known for these sorts of problems in all laptops from different manufacturers, see below for compatible and replicable cards for the Intel 7265NGW that you can replace it with. Also, it could be that the ntel 7265NGW card is faulty or its white/black arial wires are not plugged into the card correctly or they are damaged going to the arial in the screen, especially around the hindge? Chase those wires and inspect them to make sure.

Also reboot and login to your OS then and after press F3 key or both F3 & Fn keys to activate WiFi/BT functions, that usually works, try that as WiFi/BT cards are pretty reliable and fail safe (but if yours is the ntel 7265NGW they are known for problems) and very rarely go wrong unless there are either hardware or software faults in their functionality. Have a look at this teardown of the Chromebook C738T to see what I mean.

Btw, this is the list of the WiFi/BT cards that are compatible with your OEM Intel 7265NGW that you have, consider replacing them if you can’t get it to work.

    1. Dell Wireless 1707 Bluetooth 4.0 LE Combo Card
    2. Intel® Wireless 7260 and Bluetooth Combo Card

    3. Intel 7265AC

    4. Dell Wireless 1708

    5. Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3160

Check the card if its not faulty? Also the white/black arial wires going to the screen especially at the hinge are not damaged
