Hello folks,

well i have a problem with my tablet Acer Iconia A3-A40. My mom let the tablet battery drain out and didn't charge it for a month or so, but when i wanted it to charge the red LED light started to blink every 7 seconds or so, i let it charge for a whole day but it didn't charge or turn on. So what have i tried:

- i held the power button and the vol button - or + (didn't help)
- tried to plug it to the computer, there was some indication it wanted to connect to the computer but was connecting and disconnecting (didn't help)
- i bought a new battery and installed it (didn't help)
- i tried all power cables and severel different bricks (didn't help)
- while i charged the tablet i tried to turn on the tablet and the red LED light lighted up solid while i pressed the power button but after 20 seconds it still didn't turn on (didn't help)

So every solution i could find on the internet i tried but it didn't help, the tablet is off, while charging the red light turns off and on every 7 seconds.
Does anyone have a solution for my problem or does anyone know what might be the problem? Any information would be hellpfull, oh let me not forget i don't have any warrenty anymore that is why i want to fix it myself.

Thank you in advance for any answer.

Best regards,

Dalinho

Normally I'd expect the issue to be the battery itself, since when they discharge below a set value they will not recharge any longer. That helps keep them from overheating and potentially causing a fire. If the battery you put in was a new one and the right model that should have fixed it. Since it didn't fix it the problem is more likely to be in the charging circuit, which is part of the motherboard. :(
