Dock questions - Not to beat a dead horse AN515-54-56ML

I had intended to get a dock to handle an extra monitor and other peripherals but found out that the AN515-54-56ML uses a Gen 1 USB-C port and will not support the extra monitor from the dock through USB-C to the laptop. So just a simple question on this.

If my understanding is correct, with this laptop, I should be able to still have a dock in the following config.

Dock:

USB-C connected to laptop

Keyboard and mouse connected to dock

Sound connected to dock

Network cable connected to dock

Any other USB connections available on dock

Laptop:

Power adapter to laptop

HDMI connection to secondary monitor

USB-C connected to the dock

Is this correct?

So follow up question then, what is a good dock for this purpose since video or power isn’t a priority? I should be able to save some money.

Have you checked the dell 6000 dock?

I saw another thread with the Dell 6000 dock mentioned but it doesn’t seem to fix the main issue of no video or power with USB C Gen 1. So just looking for a dock to limit the multiple other connections.
