I have an ASUS NITRO 5 AN515-44-R99Q. I bought it brand new less than two months ago and love it. Today, my mouse stopped working and after some trial and error I found that it only stops working when I have something plugged into both USB 3.0-A Type ports on the left side. The items I have plugged in currently are my laptop fan and my mouse.
- If I plug my mouse into USB port 1 or 2 and leave the other USB port empty, it works fine.
- If I plug my fan into USB port 1 or 2 and leave the other USB port empty, it works fine.
- If I plug my mouse into USB port 1 and my fan into USB port 2, they both stop working.
- If I plug my fan into USB port 1 and my mouse into USB port 2, they both stop working.
- Having my phone plugged into the USB 3.1 port on the right side does not affect the issue.
I have attempted the following TS Steps so far:
- Rebooted computer - Same results
- Restarted computer - Same results
- Scanned for hardware changes in device manager - Same results
- Deleted all USB devices and reinstalled the Chipset drivers - Same results
- Updated BIOS software to version 103 - Same results
The only thing I can think of is that the chipset drivers aren't where the USB drivers are located, but that makes little sense because after I downloaded the chipset drivers, the USB devices reappeared after reboot. That said, I'm not sure if this is something that would automatically fix itself during a reboot. My other thought was that maybe there is a more recent version of the BIOS software that I somehow missed. Thoughts?
