Since reporting this problem here https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/624523/acer-nitro-5-an-515-55-hdmi-to-acer-et430k-black-screen I've come to the conclusion its a bios problem.

Notebook: Acer Nitro V AN-515-55-764B
    SNID 03907784434
    CPU i7-10750H
    GPU 1660ti
    BIOS: V1.08
    Windows 10 64bit 20H2
    Nvidia 457.51
    Intel Graphics 27.20.100.8935

Original bios v1.04
Acer Nitro 5 HDMI to Acer ET430K recognised by Windows but shows black screen
Tried Duplicate, Extended and second screen only.
Acer Nitro 5 USBC to Dell D6000 hub, HDMI to Acer ET430K also shows black screen
Tried Duplicate, Extended and second screen only.
Acer Nitro 5 USBC to Dell D6000 hub, DP to Acer ET430K works fine, but lower framerate
Acer Nitro 5 HDMI to Sony Bravia KD65XE9305 LED HDR 4K @ 60 Hz - Everything works as expected. Can extend and have the Sony Bravia as the main screen at 4k @ 60Hz.

PC with Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 1GB HDMI to Acer ET430K ok
Dell Inspiron 15-5578 - i5-7200U - HDMI to Acer ET430K ok
HP Pavillion i7-72630QM - HDMI to Acer ET430K ok

Bios v1.08
Acer Nitro 5 HDMI to Acer ET430K -> Both the laptop and ET430K screens go Black
Acer ET430K goes from no signal -> Black, so I know it is connected.
Acer Nitro 5 - set to pc only, duplicate, extend -> Black when I plug in the HDMI cable. Screen reappears when I unplug the cable.
When I unplug the cable the Acer Nitro 5 has a low-resolution screen (640 x 480?) for a second or so before it changes back to its normal 1920 x 1080.

Can Acer investigate and update the bios please, especially as it is incompatible with their own Acer ET430K?

If any knows of a better place to report this bios error, please let me know.

Thank you
