Hi all,

Hoping for a bit of help. I have an Acer Nitro 5 an515-54-5608 which has just come back from Acer for a repair under warranty (plastic cracked).  Bought it back in February 2020.

It's all fixed and I'd like to stick 16Gb (two 8gig sticks;DDR4 2666mhz SODIMM) into it with Cyberpunk etc coming out.

In order to put ram or a hard disk in I would need to remove the lower shell/cover. Will this void the warranty?

There is a sticker on the bottom saying "Void if removed" but it doesn't cover any inlets or screws etc

The laptop came with the hard disk cable to add a second hard disk in so I assume the removal of the bottom is kind of expected but I wanted to check before I go ordering some RAM...

I'm UK based if this matters.

Thanks in advance!

Could you share a pic. of the sticker and the location of it?

    Hi Batmalin,

    Thanks for responding.

So i took a picture today and remembered that I had one from earlier on before I sent it away for repair.

Looks like they have added the sticker AFTER the laptop was repaired.

The sticker does cover a screw hole (only noticed that today)- I did think it was odd that they would add the sticker but five you the option of upgrading the internals yourself...

Still, not sure whether doing it would void the warranty now?

I would call them and ask them why they added an extra sticker when there was none before? And yes it will void the warranty as they keep records of the repairs for your S/N. BTW I am not sure if it is legal to put such stickers in EU, as I don`t have one but never send it for repair.
