Docks with usb-c power (SF314-42-R9YN)

Hey all,

So I just got a Swift 3 (SF314-42-R9YN) and have a Dell WD15. The WD15 works fine as far as getting display out for two external monitors, but it doesn't seem to be charging the laptop even though I think it should be in spec. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or can recommend another dock that will do what's needed here?

    The SF314-42 models support charging other devices off the USB-C, but not charging the laptop with that port. You have to connect a separate charger to the DC-In jack.

    SF314-42 can charge and can be charged through USB-C port. But enough power is needed.

    'm using this docking station for my Swift 3 SF 314-42 to connect to external srceen and and charge via USB_C.
    Works like a charme.

    It comes with a 85W power supply.

    I'm getting mixed messages about this on my SF314-42 4700U.

    I have tried two Dell docks, a WD15 and D6000 and neither charge my Swift 3. Acer support has told me that USB-C doesn't charge but it's clearly printed on the side machine. The logo for charging at the barrel is identical to the one on the USB-C port. This should mean it charges.

    I would love to know what docks will work. Dronitoni has posted one link and said his works. That's positive. Any others?

    That's the boat I'm in. After looking into it more, the Dell WD15 is Thunderbolt 3 which is an Intel technology, so not 100% compatible with AMD chips. And it's also 15W power delivery, so not enough for this. Probably any dock that says it will deliver more than 45W to the laptop will probably be ok. I haven't bought anything yet, though. The suggestion from Dronitoni looks like a great starting point (just too expensive where I am).

    Ok, the riddle is slowly being solved here. That helps narrow down the search perhaps

    In order to charge the dock is going to need to provide 20V at 45W, unless yours has a discrete GPU then it'll need 65W, to correctly charge. That, of course, requires the laptop to accept USB-C charging...

    So we're looking for 20V @ 45W from our chargers and docks of choice? Helps narrow the search down as well. Thanks!

    And you can also use something that provide more power than that, so a 20V 90W will work fine as well...

    However, I should add that 45 W doesn't appear to be enough to sustain charging while in use so I would probably rather find something like 65 W perhaps.

    I returned the Anker PowerExpand+ 7-in-1 as it wasn't providing enough power to sustain charging under load. I replaced it with a PowerExpand Elite 13-in-1 and that can output 85 W and this one works perfectly with my SF314-42
