Aspire One running Ubuntu based Zorin OS.
The BIOS updaters are all for Windows (ie .bat or .exe). How do I update my BIOS?
Cheers!

BIOS updates are fairly risky even from the Windows environment. What problem do you think the BIOS update will fix? Jack E/NJ

    Thanks for the reply.
Yes I'm fully aware of the possible risks of BIOS updates, having performed many over the last 10 to 15 years with no issues.
There is no specific problem per se - the machine is 10 years old, and as a new BIOS was issued some years ago, I would like to update it.
Is there any way of doing so in Linux?

I'm using mint19.3 right now in this reply with a 10 year old AO722 still with the factory-installed BIOS version. Firmware updates are really meant to fix issues, not non-issues. Don't even think about running it using the Wine overlay. If it's not dual boot, and you still want to take an even greater risk of bricking it anyway, you can either run the extracted DOS batch file booting to the X : \ > prompt from a Windows installation USB--- or--- run the Windows executable from a live Windows USB session---or---- copy/rename the BIOS binary  found in the extracted DOS subdirectory as BIOS.fd to a FAT32 formatted USB stick and then use the FN+ESC cold boot method to try to flash the BIOS chip from the stick.
