PT515-52 black screen

I have a one month old Predator:

It runs properly under "Normal" conditions such as watching movies/TV streams and web browsing. However when running games (with both the laptop monitor and an external monitor), the screen will randomly go black. The computer continues to run, I can still talk to my team on Mumble, I can still hear sounds and music running in the game, just no display. No button or combination of buttons are able to bring the screen back to life. I am forced to hold the power button down and reboot the computer. Sometimes it will run the game for an hour, sometimes for 5 minutes, it seems entirely random. While I must admit that this could be indicative of a failing GPU (RTX 2070 Super), I am truly suspecting a software related issue. I have "updated" the Nividia driver and verified that I have the most current Bios installed. While this technically could be an issue with the game itself, I doubt this given that it ran with no problem until the last week.

Something that I realized last night, my Predator Sense app will not open. Double clicking, right clicking and trying to "Open as administrator" nothing will open the app. Am I having an issue with the fan speed sensors not functioning correctly causing an overheat "trip" that shuts down the video card? I'm looking for any suggestion that I might try short of returning the laptop to Acer under warrantee for what I becoming more apparent to be a software related issue.

I've had it happen in both windowed and full screen modes.

Yes, the situation occurs in more than one screen resolution. I'm becoming more convinced that it's software related, and more specifically with Predator Sense. I uninstalled that and then reinstalled it, and it still would not open. At Acer's tech request, I did a factory reset on the laptop and then reinstalled Predator Sense, and it's now functioning. Over this weekend I'm going to see if the black screen stops under gaming conditions.

My suspicion is that Predator Sense was not working at all, preventing the GPU fan speed from changing, and possibly not even turning on, allowing the GPU to overheat shutting it down. With Predator Sense back up and running, I can see that the GPU fan is running and that I can manually change it's speed. Hopefully this prevents further black screens.
