I've gone cross-eyed trying to get an affordable laptop for my son. He is a casual gamer nothing real crazy. Anyways, Walmart has a NH.Q96AA.004 for $799. Acer has a NH.Q96AA.002 for $999. There is also a difference in the following numbers as well. The $799 one shows AN515-54-56ML, the $999 has AN515-54-547D. Can anyone help me?

Also, is an i5 good enough for casual gaming or should I pay the extra cost for an i7?

    NH.Q96AA.004 has HDD 1TB and SSD 256Gb
    NH.Q96AA.002 has only SSD 512Gb

i5 for casual gamers should be enough.

my i7 runs too hot so ive had to underclock it so not really using the full ghz anyway! its at 3.6 now and thats enough for me. I think a i5 would be okay for casual gaming and get a better gpu. Most of the games ive played require i5 for recommended settings. Also, the gpus are mobile gpus so a 1650 ti in a nitro isnt actually a 1650 ti( nvidia stopped including the mobile naming suffix ) . is a mobile gpu with lesser output so i recommend getting a better gpu. Also, you cant upgrade cpu and gpu as they are soldered to mobo so get the best you can afford for future proofing- gpu i mean. My 1650ti mobile does 1080p at 80 fps latest COD and most games so i think its okay. Not sure about these 1050s as dont own one.

    Hope i could help!
