How do I disable the keyboard of my Acer A315-53-581K Laptop so that it doesn't work completely ?

My laptop's keyboard has been faulty for months now (probably 4 -5). It ghost types all the time, scrolls down fast, and even when I backspace, it continues to ghost type. The only way I get it to stop sometimes is to press the volume down button, which recently doesn't work anymore. I use an external keyboard, and I've been looking for a way to disable my laptop's keyboard so that it doesn't work completely. I tried uninstalling or disabling the keyboard in Device Manager, but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to disable or "turn off" my laptop's keyboard so that it stops ghost typing?? I've also tried Keytweak but it ends up also disabling my external keyboard, which I don't want. If anyone knows the way, please reply! I am not able to open documents in the fear that the ghost typing will ruin it : ( . Any reply would be very much appreciated!! : )

    Hi @kirusu

You can try to refresh the laptop and check with it like whether it makes any difference.

Please follow the steps below to refresh a Windows 10 computer.

    1. Head to Windows 10 Settings.
    2. Head to Update and Security in Settings
    3. Select Recovery from the left-hand side.
    4. Under Reset this PC select Get Started.
    5. Select Keep my files.
    6. After that follow the on screen instructions.
But if you do the system refresh as I suggested all your installed applications will be un installed.

Hope it will help you in some way.

Assuming the issue is hardware related you could just unplug the keyboard internally.

It is time to replace the keyboard. I think it is a hardware issue.
Do a search from the web to find the part.

I had my laptop keyboard replaced for less than $30.
Search a video from the web on how to service the laptop to get the idea of what to do.
View this link and it should help.

Usually, replacing a laptop keyboard is not a complicated process, most people can probably do it in less than ten minutes.
