Factory reset using a recovery usb drive not working Acer Aspire.

Hi,
I am experiencing some strange behaviour on this Acer Aspire. I was looking to give it a factory reset as its currently a bit unstable. So I pulled out my recovery usb drive I made when I initially set the machine up. and have tried the following approaches to reset it, but none of them worked.

- Acer Care centre recovery throws an error shown in screenshot attached.

- If i start the computer and use alt+f10 i get an issue saying some winload.efi file failed to load
- If i start and hit f2 to change usb drive as first boot drive i still get the same problem with winload.efi file not loading.

Not entirely sure what else I can try. I thought the usb flash drive would work but its not even getting to the options when i can select factory reset options and format drive options

There are hundreds of aspire models. It might help to know which one you have. For example, A515-55G? Jack E/NJ

It was Acer Aspire A515 I had to use a Microsoft website to create a recovery which means I no.oknger have all the acer stuff

Back-up any files you want to keep and do a complete reinstall of the OS

There are dozens of A515 models. Example A515-41? A515-55? A515-44G? A515-56G???? Jack E/NJ

It's A515-52. I think it was Windows defender that got corrupt which had a knock on effect with everything.
For some reason teh recovery drive created by Acer didn't work I had to download a copy of Windows from Microsoft and reinstall that way.

Re-enter the BIOS menu with F2 on startup. Make sure the F12 and D2D options are still enabled in the BIOS Main tab. Then set a supervisor password in the BIOS Security tab. Then F10 to save settings and exit. Then re-enter the BIOS menu with F2 on startup with the supervisor password. Then disable secure boot. Then F10 to save setttings and exit again. Then press and hold the power button till the laptop shuts off. Then turn it back on and IMMEDIATELY press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 . The recovery screen should now appear.
