AN515-55 SSD drive cloning

Hello Everyone,

If there are any other posts about this let me know and I will delete this one.

I have a AN515-55-50Z3 that was purchased this year from The Source. I would like to upgrade the 250gb SDD that came in it.

#1 I can't find an exact picture of the mainboard anywhere so I'm not sure if I buy another M2 2280 SSD (1TB) if it will fit in slot 2 (providing there is a slot 2 on the board and its compatible). #2 If it will fit in slot 2 should I clone drive 1 to drive 2 then swap them around? Or should I buy NVMe M.2 2280 to USB adaptor and do the cloning with that?

Hi,
1. Yes, you have two M.2 SSD slots, first slot is for PCIe/NVMe SSD only and the second is for PCIe/SATA SSD, so you can use the second slot for cloning, you can install 1TB SSD in both slots, I am unable to comment on XPG GAMMIX SSD because I have no experience with this drive and couldn't find anyone using in this model.
2. It looks expensive and up to you to decide whether you want to use an adapter.
3. Macrium reflect home edition is a reliable cloning software.

You are welcome, Samsung Evo or Evo Plus drives are good in my opinion, you may have to pay a little more than other drives but worth the extra money.

Thank you for the response. Any recommendations on a 1TB drive?
