Battery life acer swift 3x

Just bought an acer swift 3x, acer claimed that this laptop can last for 17.5 hours, but somehow my laptop only last for around 4hours, why?

Likely you have programs and background tasks that are using up battery at a higher than normal rate. Are you still running the antivirus that came with it? It's scans can really suck up power. Are you still in the default power plan? You might try testing other plans to see how much difference it makes. Also, anything that using the radios uses more power, so WiFi and Bluetooth activity can affect battery life. Finally there are a couple of ways the system and battery can get confused about each other, making it so it displays a shorter battery life than actually applies. Fixing that involves a battery reset (disconnect everything and power down, then press the reset button for 15-30 seconds and release, wait 15-30 minutes the plug the charger back in, and wait for a full charge indication before turning it back on) and/or a Windows battery calibration (run the system on battery until it shuts down due to critical low battery, plug in and charge fully, turn it back, repeat as needed).

Power plans are listed in Settings; System; Power & Sleep; Additional Power Settings. There is a Create function there to make more if there isn't much choice...

I've uninstalled a lot of the bloatware (including anti-virus software) and stopped apps from running in the background. I've only been watching videos on Udemy and practising in an adjacent tab on Google Chrome. But even then I am getting only about 4.5-5 hours of battery life at max. And when I turn the bluetooth on, it is giving me only about 2.5-3 hours. And mind you, all this is with the battery saver mode. I am really worried how it would perform when I start using IDE's for development and in better/best performance mode.

Single-click on the battery icon and you can see battery modes. 4 modes - Battery saver, better battery, better performance and best performance. You can select any of those as per your liking. While charging only 3 modes will be shown.

hi same situation here with the swift 3x, did u manage to extend thr battery life?

go to acer site then support click on drivers and manuals check the enter your product model or serial id then check bios and firmware youll see extent battery life bios file now check your bios version to check the version go to acer care centre app then click on  my system there youll see your current bios version if its not showing the same version as on the site update them

if its already updated (like in my case) did you update any latest drivers from intel site directly?
