Quick Access - System Usage Mode - what does it do? (A715-75g) Aspire 7

I'm the proud owner of a new Aspire 7 laptop - been having a dig round it and I can't find any information on the Acer Quick Access option  - System Usage Mode. it offers the option of normal and performance mode so I'm guessing that there is some form of CPU/GPU throttling involved?

That said I can comfortably run most games - GTA V, Plague Tale - just fine on Normal Mode so not sure what I should be setting it to.  Are there any disadvantages to sticking it on performance mode?

Thanks.

Keep it in normal balanced mode if heavy gaming loads perform OK. Performance mode will generally consume more energy and create more heat even when not gaming. Jack E/NJ

thanks Jack.  I'm gonna run some ingame benchmarks to get a better understanding but yeah tbh, pretty happy with the performance on Normal!  Would be good to get some figures on what actually it is changing, it seems like documentation is pretty limited unfortunately!
