C731T-C96J: Laptop which has suddenly stopped taking charge and won't power up

Hi all 
I have the above model laptop which has suddenly stopped taking charge and won't power up? Charger is working but no red light on unit and no power up anyone else had this at all and any fix available??

    OK, likely time to open it up then. The power input jack is mounted in the case and connected to the motherboard with a cable. It might have come undone or have broken. There are eleven screws on the bottom, then you turn it upright and carefully pry the top case off the bottom. From there you should be able to see well enough to disconnect the DC-In cable from the MB and test it. If it's good pull the battery cable loose and test it as well, if the issue is between them it's in the Mb and not likely worth repairing... :(
    The DC-In cable is part number: 50.GM9N7.002, just in case that's the issue.

    How did you test the charger? It could be a bad battery, but it's unusual for that to fail suddenly.

    Charger tested with multi meter putting power to battery but nothing, no lights no start up absolutely dead
