Initial Thermal Paste - Nitro 5 AN515-54

Hello, I bought in august this laptop, an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54, my first gaming pc/laptop. A friend told me how to clean the fans and showed me, but i wanna ask about the paste below the fans, or the extension of the fans. Is this amount of paste good? and, is it normal that "leaks" a little to the sides?, I haven't changed it of course, this came with the laptop. I just wanna know if its safe, I'll add the picture i took. Any answer is appreciated, thank you.

"NO” that’s not ok, that is a BIG mess and very ineffective! Wipe all that paste off with an alcoholic wipe and then only use the "Pea Dot" method (like in the caption below) and then put the heatsink onto both the CPU and GPU as that will spread the paste adequately onto both tops of the CPU/GPU, also use the "Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut NEW Extreme” paste as that is the most suitable for your Nitro 5 AN515-54.

I dont really have paste, soi guess ill just have to clean it a bit from tbe sides. Not sure how

Do you know if I can use Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on a Nitro 5 AN515-54?

If you do not have the paste then get it and re-paste, if not a certain particular brand, at least get some thermal paste and do it. Otherwise, we may see you posting here again complaining about PC having overheating problem.
 
The original pasting is really a mess.

I have to look at mine tomorrow. That really looks messy. A bit "scared" to use Grizzly Conductonaut. Probably go for Kryonaut Extreme as Steven said.

Well ! After rethinking a little, every time I detach the CPU fan and the paste on the CPU looks similar. You "MUST" do a repasting after detaching the CPU fan. Don't just put it back as-is.

 It is easy, you have already done half of it. Just wipe both the CPU and the CPU fan connecting side clean with alcohol ( and let dry). Just apply one big drop of the paste ( the size of a pea, like the photo) on the CPU side, put the CPU fan back and apply a little bit of pressure to ensure the paste will spread to the edges (kind of automatic though). Be sure the four thumb screws are in place securely.

Problem is that Conductonaut is electrically conductive and can't be used on aluminum. Don't know what material the CPU fan is made of on my pc. don't want to burn my laptop 😊
