Is it normal for my GPU temp to be low while my CPU temp is high?

Hey! I have an Acer Nitro 5 i7-9750 CPU @ 2.60GHz RTX 2060 16 gb ram. I was playing Hat in Time(high settings, except for characters, which was performance) , and noticed that my CPU was way higher than my GPU temperature. I noticed this before, but I wondered if it was normal. So I played a bit, and I checked NitroSense. The maximum for the CPU was 88 C, while the max for the GPU was 60 C. Is this normal? Thanks!

Yes its normal, as your i7-9750 cpu’s has an integrated UHD 630 gpu graphics and both do 90% of the work and that is why you cpu always shows hotter in your temp app by at least 20% plus reading, as your secondary gpu is not used only with gaming and high demand graphics. That is why your cpu is always hotter, simple

Just curious, if the integrated GPU is the reason it is so hot, why is it when I open a game, my CPU temps spike from 55 to 70-95, even though it is running on the 2060? Is it just that the CPU is getting more info from the game, so it gets hotter, or is the integrated GPU also receiving instructions. Thanks!

    Yes that is correct.

I have similar temps aswell. The gpu just runs cooler than cpu.
btw 88c cpu is pretty hot, you could probs go down to 75 C by underclocking your i7 to 3.6Ghz as its probs turbo all the time 4.5ghz( mine was) causing high temps. Everything else i tried ( reducing thermals) didnt do anything. I used throttle stop.

edit: i thought average was 88c not max. So, your temps arent too bad for this laptop if its only ever 88 max
