Does the Acer Aspire TC-780(KBL) Motherboard have an M.2 SSD compatible slot? If so can anyone recommend what would be a good SSD for this motherboard.

    Hi,
Yes, you have a M.2 SSD slot, you can install a M.2 SATA SSD in the slot, like Samsung 860 Evo but I have seen one user installed a M.2 NVMe SSD(PCIe3.0x2) and another using a Samsung 970 Evo NVMe SSD running only at SATA speed, the slot is by the side of the Power connector.
I would suggest you go with a M.2 SATA SSD.

If you open up your PC, the M.2 is located close to the edge of motherboard (just behind the front panel, close to the top of PC). It may be blocked from view by the DVD drive. To access the M.2 slot people need to remove the DVD drive first. I do not have specific recommendation but will try a 500GB (no guarantee for 1TB or higher) "M" key PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD with 2280 form factor and sequential write speed close to 3500 MB/s. Personally I use different brand of M.2 NVMe SSD(s) to different slots and Type-C port with my PC.

Oops ! Better use M.2 SATA SSD instead of NVMe if you don't want to waste money. There is a chance NVMe will work but at SATA speed. If return policy is good from the seller, you can try NVMe first.
