Hi everyone. My laptop absolutely will not reset and I can't figure it out. I've cleared pending update files and just about everything allowable to delete from the laptop. I've tried Alt+F10 and it did start the reset, but then got to 36% and said it couldn't complete and no changes made. I've cleaned the drives etc too. Anyone have any idea what I can do as I'm trying to recycle my laptop to someone else and need all my details / password at switch on removed. Thanks!

What do you mean by cleaning the drives? If you did this before trying the ALT+F10 reset, the factory reset process might've been corrupted and can no longer complete. Make sure the BIOS MAIN tab has the F12 and D2D options turned on. Also you may want to set and save a BIOS supervisor password, then re-enter the BIOS with the password and then try to disable secure boot.

Then try the ALT+F10 reset at least two more times because sometimes it needs a few cold boots to proceed further in the reset process.  If it still doesn't complete, the only remedy in the UK would be to re-install generic Windows using Microsoft's USB thumbdrive media creation at this link http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery.
