Click on firewall and network protection. Click on private network. Turn off Windows Defender on private network. Reboot and see what happens. Jack E/NJ

Nope - turned off private network firewall and still wouldn't connect, but home page of microsoft edge opened. Was almost as if there was a brief connection and then stalled, but it never said it was connected. Probably just clutching at straws.

Turned firewall back on - and it's worked!!! Makes no sense? Thank you so much for your time and patience

That's because it's magic.   :) Likely related to a Win10 update. Thanks for reporting back. Jack E/NJ
