    Which model do you have? If it's not one of the N models you need a capacitive pen, normally the kind with the blunt rubber tip. If it is an N model then it uses an active stylus and they can be different for different models.

    The Spin 713 CP713-2w-5874 does support a USI stylus.  I recently purchased both.  I have the Iplume USI stylus. It works great.  Note the buttons do no work, but that is actually due to the current version of the Chrome OS, not the pen.  Hopefully future updates to the OS will enable the buttons. I have taken notes, and the palm rejection does work while the pen is connected to the screen (actively writing). So it takes some getting used to.  I have only tested the levels of pressure on a basic sketch app.  it does give a darker line when pressing harder.
