Hi all,
-  I have a back lit keyboard on my Acer Aspire F5 573g that needs replacing (3 Keys won't work) And Im just wondering if I can use a non back lit keyboard to replace it?
-  Also does anyone know if the replacement process is difficult as I'm relatively new to laptop repair (although I've built my own PC in the past)

- What screwdriver I'll need for the inside of the laptop

Thank you!

Before you decide to replace the keyboard, use a soft cosmetic facial blush brush to dig under the keycovers to loosen and dislodge debris/crumbs that might have accumulated on the key switches preventing good contact. At the same time, use the exhaust from a vacuum cleaner or canned compressed air to blow the debris away.

If this doesn't help, then yes you can replace the keyboard with a non-backlit type. Google 'F5-573G' & 'disassembly' for youtube videos on how to do this. You will need an inexpensive jeweler's screwdriver kit like shown below that has both conventional blade head and phillips head drivers. Usually cost less than $10USD. Jack E/NJ
