I have a ~1.5 yr old Predator Helios 300 (2019) that has recently developed a weird technical issue.
This issue occurs randomly and NOT after a fixed pattern like heavy gaming.
I have done the following to fix the issue, none of which has worked
TIA
- Screen turns off and hangs (Fans are on but screen turns off, no effect of button presses)
- Only the keyboard hangs (Screen is on, mouse works but keyboard does not)
- Turns off randomly while booting
- Sometimes the power light is stuck even after I turn off with long press
This issue occurs randomly and NOT after a fixed pattern like heavy gaming.
I have done the following to fix the issue, none of which has worked
- Replaced RAM after I detected failure with memtestx86, new RAM works fine.
- Tried software fixes I have seen here like Fast boot off, multiple driver versions, re/uninstall Predator Sense, XTU etc.
- If it hangs I have to turn off with a long press of power key.
- Most of the times it does not start correctly after this issue occurs, so I have to remove the battery connector by opening the chassis or remove the RTC connector and let it reset.
- Tried with both RAM slots - no difference.
- Checked both storage disks - both are fine.
- Hall connector replugging
- Discharge/recharge multiple cycles
TIA

You have checked everything but the KB flex cable and the KB itself. I suspect the issue is there.

KB cable is hard to check without complete disassembly. Is it likely that a loose KB cable is causing laptop to boot up, shut down at Windows login, and then not boot up without hard reset ?0

Well, the power button is on the KB so it is most likely...Please click "Yes" if I have answered your question.
