Greetings.
Bios version/date: Insyde Corp. V2.07, 30/9/2013.
Seems that the bios does not support virtualization. Screenshots from bios setup and Windows msinfo are attached for reference.
Will appreciate any leads or suggestions. Thank you

Open Task Manager. Click performance tab. Click CPU. Check near bottom to see if virtualization is already enabled by default. Jack E/NJ

@JackE thank you for the reply. It seems that virtualization has not been enabled. When I run the linux command # kvm-ok at the shell terminal, it shows the following results :

    INFO: /dev/kvm does not exist
    HINT:   sudo modprobe kvm_amd
INFO: Your CPU supports KVM extensions
INFO: KVM (svm) is disabled by your BIOS
HINT: Enter your BIOS setup and enable Virtualization Technology (VT),
and then hard poweroff/poweron your system
KVM acceleration can NOT be used

I have also checked the BIOS setup utility, it does not provide any feature called virtualization or VT. Can Acer provide me with an updated utility so that I can turn on the VT? Thank you

It's an risky process that might brick the machine since ACER chose not to support virtualization for this particular mainboard. But here's a link to how it's done with a related 15" laptop. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/184353/#Comment_184353    Substitute a USB Linux installation stick for the DVD method.  Jack E/NJ
