Acer Spin 13 Chromebook loose hinge

I bought my chromebook in January (On Amazon) so it should still be under warranty. I've been noticing a slight click sound from the left hinge. If I tap the the hinge it clearly moves up and down as well. My worry is that this problem may get worse in the near future which would be a shame for a chromebook that isn't even a year old...

My question is: Should I activate my warranty or is this a normal issue with the Acer Spin 13's?
Has anyone had experience with Acer warranty or Amazon? I saw Amazon offers repairs, should I send it back to them rather than directly to Acer?

Thanks!

Go ahead and activate the warranty on it. When the hinges freeze up they tend to break the mounts, and that's a pain to repair. Also be careful to put even pressure on both sides when you open, lifting from the left side torques things to the side.

I ended up sending it back to Amazon for repair. They just responded that it is impossible to repair the issue and they provided a full refund. Now... Should I try another Acer Spin or is this a problem ALL of these units will have? I did enjoy the Acer Spin 13's performance and build quality.

I can pretty much say it's not a problem with all of them, since we get only a few threads here about them. When they do fail it's almost always the left hinge and hinge issues are more common than other issues. I've never yet had a hinge problem with any of my Acer notebooks, but mine is a sample size of less than ten units...
