I have a AN515-44-R0XR. Can I use the USB C port as a second dispaey port in addition to the HDMI out port? The technical info says that USB C port is second generation. When I try connecting a monitor to the USB C port using a USV-C to HDMI adapter, nothing happens.
Thank you.

If you have 2 x HDMI monitor, the first HDMI monitor is connected from the HDMI port on the hub.  The second monitor is from the primary USB-C/Thunderbolt3 port, with a USB-C to HDMI cable.

If the second monitor is equipped with DVI, VGA or MiniDP, please plug in the USB-C to DVI, VGA or MiniDP cable, such as below:

The MiniDP on the hub supports only MiniDP monitor.  It is not compatible with Thunderbolt, DVI, VGA or HDMI monitor, even with an adapter.  See the image below for detail explanation. To achieve the extended view in two monitors, one monitor must be connected either from HDMI port or MiniDP on the hub, the second monitor must be connected from the USB-C/Thunderbolt3 port.

There must be something wrong with either your laptops plugs or one of the components, like your monitor is not compatible. Do a systematic and an elimination process and narrow it down to where the problem is, see if your 2nd monitor works with the both cables/plugs, see the plugs if they are faulty etc as the setup above should work and is working for many users.
