Hi, I've been using a Helios 300 2019 for months now, I've underclocked it to decrease temp. Whenever I play AAA or heavy games, the temperature should touch around maximum 80°C on CPU and 75°C max on GPU (on room temperature).

Is this a safe workload temperature for the gaming laptop for the long run?

85-87'C is quite hot. It is a safe temperature but its too much on the borderline. Though recommended temp is 85-90'C i would say a safe temperature for long lifespan would be 80-83 with spikes to 85. So u might want to consider cleaning ur fans or repasting.

The temps are safe in the long run. Have you undervolted or reduced the clock speed of cpu?

Yes, it's underclocked and undervolted. Just wanna know if 80°C is a good temperature and not too hot for gaming because I'm not really comfortable with high thermal.

Because I don't really know the thermal limit that the Helios model could handle. Before undervolt it runs at 90-95°C on CPU which I do research is the same on all Helios 300 models

Undervolt is strongly recommended for reducing temps but underclock is usually not a solution. U pay so much for a high end processor with a high turbo clock speed, then reducing the clock speeds necessarily means that u have a processor inferior to the one in ur machine. So u r technically making ur machine underperform when it is capable of doing better. If u have high temperatures when the clock speeds are normal, then u might want to consider some other options..

Without underclock, the average temperature is 85°C which I still think very hot, is 85-87°C still safe for it to operate? If it's safe I should consider to remove the underclock.

I don't think I could do repaste since it's still brand new and repasting should result in warranty void. As long as it's still a normal temp for the Helios 300 models then it's fine. I'll try to repaste it on the Acer Centre.

    Thank you for the answer.
