Aspire A515-44G: Error 0x1900209 with Win Update 2004

I would like to upgrade my nice new Aspire A515-44G to the current Windows version after unpacking, also to work with WSL2. Therefore I downloaded and executed the Windows 10 Update Wizard. It gets up to 77% and probably starts a 2nd program. The percentage counter starts again at 0% and at about 40% it stops and the window disappears. Then the Update Assistant restarts and after some time it shows the message that the update failed.

The error code 0x1900209 appears on the return path to the termination.

After a Google search I suspect an incompatible driver or application. So I tried to uninstall all non-Windows programs and despite some attempts and reboot, update the BIOS to v1.06 etc. there is no change.

Does anyone have an idea? I mean, this is a new computer and the update does not work! This must not happen and should others have it?

Do a clean install of Win-10 and then upgrade to version 2004 and the latest build 19041.508. Do an installation USB (through your Aspire A515-44G) laptop with “Create Windows 10 installation media” from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and then update to “Windows 10 May 2020 Update” version 2004 from the same page update wizard, then run “Windows Update” after and download all updates for Win-10 and then install WSL 2 on Windows 10, look at this guide “How to Install WSL 2 on Windows 10” here: https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/how-to-install-wsl2-on-windows-10

You must have some issues with your current Win-10 whichever version you have? To not be able to update to version 2004, as updating from any version to 2004 is a simple process like the above guide I’ve given you to install Win-10 and then version 2004 and all its updates and then you can install WSL 2. Do it step by step.

Your computer is not yet supported by this version of Windows 10. No action is required. This version of Windows 10 will be offered automatically by Windows Update once the problem is resolved.
